Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Management will ensure seamless end‑to‑end supply chain operations for MAHLE Engine Components. You will coordinate supplier schedules, material availability, logistics, imports and inventory to keep production running smoothly and meet OEM requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Release and communicate purchase orders, monitor supplier acknowledgements, production status and dispatch commitments.
• Provide firm and forecast schedules to suppliers, ensuring alignment with JIT and line‑side delivery.
• Plan and manage inbound logistics for domestic and imported materials, coordinating transporters and tracking shipments.
• Oversee daily material pickups, gate entry, unloading, warehouse coordination and timely GRN posting in SAP.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, bought‑out parts and consumables, applying FIFO/FEFO principles.
• Manage end‑to‑end import processes, documentation, customs clearance and compliance with duty structures.
• Collaborate with production, quality, purchase, finance and stores teams to resolve shortages, quality rejections and supplier delays.
• Maintain accurate ERP data and generate MIS reports on material availability, supplier performance and inventory status.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of experience in supply chain, logistics or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of OEM production schedules, JIT delivery and inventory control.
• Proven ability to coordinate with multiple internal functions and external suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to address supply risks and logistics issues.

Required skills

• SAP (ERP) for purchase order processing and inventory management.
• Knowledge of import documentation, customs clearance and international logistics.
• Experience with logistics coordination, freight optimization and inventory reconciliation.
