Assistant Manager - Sales Training

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Sales Training will support the Training Manager in building and delivering the capability‑building agenda for a retail workforce of over 1,000 employees nationwide. The role combines retail operations knowledge with learning‑and‑development expertise to design, deliver and manage product and process training programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update basic and advanced product training materials for store teams, including daily in‑store learning aids and seasonal manuals.
• Identify and groom Store Managers and senior retail managers as internal trainers, creating assessment structures and coaching frameworks.
• Maintain and utilise the MST platform for store communications and standard retail process checklists.
• Lead capability‑building initiatives such as visual‑merchandising champion programmes and succession‑planning activities for store managers.
• Pilot and monitor store‑based projects aimed at category improvement, adjusting content based on feedback and measuring effectiveness.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialised brand or category training requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail operations combined with a background in training delivery or learning‑and‑development.
• Strong ability to work cross‑functionally with buying, merchandising, visual merchandising and marketing teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, capable of influencing teams without direct reporting lines.
• Analytical mindset to assess training impact and identify talent for succession planning.
