Assistant Manager - Risk Containment Unit

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Risk Containment Unit will lead the risk and fraud management function for the Payments business of Bajaj Finance Limited. You will oversee the full lifecycle of risk, from merchant onboarding checks to transaction monitoring and portfolio oversight, ensuring a secure and compliant payment environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end risk and fraud management for the Acquiring QR business, including onboarding verification, transaction monitoring and portfolio review.
• Conduct daily reviews of risk‑triggered cases, analyse transaction patterns, verify business data and perform merchant calls for early risk identification.
• Update internal systems with actions taken and maintain accurate records of investigations.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on risk trends, thresholds and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with business, operations and data teams to refine processes, implement controls and mitigate fraud exposure.
• Make decisions on merchant quality, activation or deactivation based on documented evidence and risk analysis.

Required profile

• Graduate or post‑graduate degree with a solid understanding of the payments business.
• 1‑2 years of experience in an NBFC or bank, preferably in calling, document verification or risk assessment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to handle special situations quickly and accurately.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (SFDC) for case management.
