About the role

Assistant Manager – R&D at Avery Dennison in Pune will lead new product research and development of pressure‑sensitive adhesives, driving technology innovation and supporting the AMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Design and formulate acrylic and rubber‑based pressure‑sensitive adhesives according to market needs and customer specifications.
• Drive technology innovation through idea generation, root‑cause analysis, troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Maintain proactive watch on emerging technologies, IP and market trends for strategic planning.
• Manage cost‑driven, business‑continuity and strategic projects for the AMEA region, following DDOS/Stage‑gate processes.
• Lead cross‑functional project teams, update A3 project plans, specifications, test plans and reports, and ensure smooth transition to commercialization.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Engineering, Polymer Sciences or related discipline.
• 3‑5 years of experience in polymer/rubber adhesive development and testing.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and technical communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of polymer/rubber materials and pressure‑sensitive adhesive technologies (solvent, emulsion, hot‑melt).
• Familiarity with testing equipment for adhesive performance.
• Proficiency with common computer software, especially Google platforms and Clarity project management tool.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
