Assistant Manager – R&D Adhesive Formulation

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to lead new product research and development of pressure‑sensitive adhesives. The role involves designing and formulating acrylic and rubber‑based adhesives that meet market needs and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and formulate novel acrylic and rubber‑based pressure‑sensitive adhesives.
• Drive technology innovation through idea generation, root‑cause analysis, troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Monitor emerging technologies, intellectual property and market trends to secure competitive advantage.
• Improve productivity and efficiency by applying digitalisation, automation, AI and machine‑learning tools.
• Manage cost‑driven and strategic R&D projects for the AMEA region, following DDOS/Stage‑gate processes.
• Coordinate cross‑functional project calls, maintain project plans, specifications and test reports.
• Oversee the R&D workflow in the Clarity platform from ideation to development stage and ensure smooth hand‑over to commercialization teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Engineering or Polymer Sciences.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in adhesive formulation or related R&D.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and technical writing abilities.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of polymer/rubber materials and allied compounds.
• Familiarity with testing equipment used for adhesive performance evaluation.
• Proficiency with common computer software, especially Google platforms.
