Assistant Manager QA/QC

About the role

The Assistant Manager QA/QC will support the delivery of high‑quality construction projects by overseeing both quality assurance and quality control activities. This position ensures that all works comply with contractual, regulatory, and client specifications while maintaining robust quality systems.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System (PQMS).
• Prepare, review, and approve quality plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), method statements and work procedures in line with ISO standards.
• Ensure compliance with contract specifications, IS codes, ASTM standards and client/consultant requirements.
• Conduct internal quality audits, track non‑conformities and drive their closure.
• Monitor vendor and subcontractor quality systems and obtain necessary approvals.
• Supervise inspection and testing of concrete works, rock excavation, tunnelling, dam structures, waterways, surge shafts, power house components, reinforcement and shuttering.
• Oversee material testing for cement, aggregates, steel, water and admixtures.
• Verify and maintain field test reports, cube testing, soil testing and NDT reports.
• Coordinate activities with site and third‑party laboratories.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of ISO standards, IS codes and ASTM specifications.
• Experience in preparing and approving quality plans, ITPs and method statements.
• Ability to conduct internal audits and manage non‑conformities.
• Familiarity with vendor and subcontractor quality management.
