Assistant Manager Production

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager Production to lead safety, health and environment initiatives while overseeing shift‑level production activities at our Mangalore plant. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will ensure that manufacturing runs smoothly, meets quality standards and complies with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor process flow, capacity utilization and plant safety during the assigned shift.
• Supervise workmen, operators and officers to achieve planned production targets.
• Coordinate with support functions to resolve breakdowns, manage downtimes and ensure resource availability.
• Drive continuous improvement projects, including 5S, Operational Excellence (OpEx) and batch cycle‑time reduction.
• Act as the safety representative, approve hot‑work/height‑work permits and lead emergency response when required.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering or technical qualification.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory or assistant‑manager role.
• Strong understanding of EHS practices and ISO management standards.
• Ability to lead a team, communicate effectively and enforce safety discipline.
