Assistant Manager - Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the mechanical design and engineering activities for material handling systems, ensuring functional solutions are delivered within budget and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, execute, monitor and control design and engineering activities for material handling equipment.
• Translate sold functionality into detailed mechanical designs, including GA, interface and installation drawings.
• Prepare flow diagrams, system layouts, master equipment lists (MEL/BOM) and technical compliance documents.
• Generate clash reports using Navisworks and resolve clashes with customers and subcontractors.
• Lead the team in detailed and production design, ordering of mechanical parts, and preparation of installation documents.
• Support sales with proposals and compliance matrices, and evaluate manufacturing feasibility and cost estimates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5‑8 years of experience in material handling system design and mechanical equipment calculation.
• Proven project coordination and communication skills, with ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Edge.
• Knowledge of Navisworks and Revit (preferred).
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical equipment design calculations.
• Experience in preparing GA, interface and installation drawings.
