Assistant Manager – Material Planning & Control

About the role

The Assistant Manager (Material Planning & RM Warehouse) is responsible for controlling activities in the raw‑material warehouse and ensuring timely material supply to production. The role supports the production line by managing inventory, safety, and compliance while coordinating with buyers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Implement safety SOPs, conduct safety audits and ensure a safe working environment.
• Create MRP files (RG, PVB & BOP) and send them to buyers for timely raw‑material procurement.
• Monitor delivery orders versus actual receipts, identify shortages or excesses, and follow up with buyers to achieve 100% on‑time deliveries.
• Prepare allocation summaries, trace in‑transit items, and update plan vs. actual consumption reports.
• Control raw‑material value, monitor physical stock versus system records, and manage slow‑moving, dead‑stock and shelf‑life items.
• Review and adjust min/max inventory levels to optimize stock.
• Generate aging reports for raw materials, define storage areas, and control material breakage.
• Close monthly inventory modules, compile RM inventory data for MCM, and circulate daily inventory updates.
• Initiate and track insurance claims for transit breakage within two working days.
• Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations for material storage and scrap disposal.

Required profile

• B.Tech with 3–5 years of relevant experience or Diploma with 6–8 years of experience.
• Knowledge of material planning, storage, handling, inventory analysis, quality systems and MIS reporting.
