Assistant Manager – Logistics

About the role

SPIRO is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Logistics to lead end‑to‑end logistics operations for inbound and outbound movement of raw materials, components, EV parts, batteries and finished vehicles. The role works closely with procurement, production, warehouse, finance and other business teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily logistics requirements aligned with production schedules and dispatch plans.
• Manage relationships with transporters, fleet operators and logistics service providers, negotiating freight rates and monitoring performance.
• Oversee loading, unloading, material movement and inter‑location transfers, ensuring proper documentation such as LR/GR, e‑way bills and PODs.
• Track shipments, resolve delays, shortages or damages, and drive logistics cost optimisation and route efficiency.
• Prepare MIS reports, analyse KPIs (freight cost, delivery timelines, vehicle utilisation) and identify opportunities for load consolidation and lead‑time reduction.
• Lead logistics executives/officers, ensuring safe and compliant transportation of high‑value EV components and batteries.

Required profile

• 6–12 years of experience in logistics, transportation or supply chain, preferably in automotive, EV or manufacturing.
• Proven track record in inbound and outbound logistics operations and freight negotiations.
• Experience handling multiple locations, vendors and stakeholders.
• Graduate degree; MBA or PG Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
