Assistant Manager – Logistics

About the role

Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations in an automotive manufacturing environment, ensuring uninterrupted material flow, optimized inventory and transportation costs, and compliance with customer delivery requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inbound Logistics Management – ensure timely receipt of raw materials, coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and warehouse teams.
• Production Logistics – maintain line‑side material availability, monitor inventory, coordinate with production, planning, purchase and stores.
• Outbound Logistics & Dispatch – ensure timely dispatch of finished goods, monitor transportation arrangements and delivery performance.
• Warehouse & Inventory Management – maintain inventory accuracy, optimize space, control slow‑moving and obsolete stock.
• Transportation Management – manage transport vendors, optimize freight costs, ensure safety and statutory compliance.
• Customer & Supplier Coordination – interface with OEM customers, coordinate deliveries, resolve logistics complaints.
• Systems & Process Improvement – use SAP for logistics transactions, drive automation, implement Lean, Kaizen, 5S, cost‑reduction projects.
• Compliance & Safety – adhere to ISO/IATF 16949, maintain EHS standards, ensure statutory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain Management (MBA/PGDM preferred).
• 12+ years logistics/supply chain experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with OEM customers, inbound/outbound logistics, warehouse operations and transportation management.
• Knowledge of SAP systems.
