Assistant Manager - IT

About the role

The Assistant Manager – IT will ensure 24 × 7 availability and performance of the server, storage, virtualization and network infrastructure that supports MES and manufacturing applications for a solar cell production line. The role combines operational monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement of the IT/OT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high‑availability of infrastructure supporting MES and solar cell manufacturing applications.
• Administer physical and virtual Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and group policies.
• Manage VMware/Hyper‑V virtualization platforms and SAN/NAS storage capacity and performance.
• Monitor server health (CPU, memory, logs) and provide immediate support for production‑critical incidents.
• Perform OS patching, security updates, antivirus/EDR management and vulnerability remediation in line with production schedules.
• Oversee backup, restore validation, disaster‑recovery testing and business‑continuity readiness.
• Administer user, service and privileged accounts according to security policies.
• Coordinate with MES, database, automation, equipment, network and OEM teams during incidents and planned shutdowns.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech/BCA/MCA/B.Sc. in Computer Science, IT or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of system/server administration experience, preferably supporting MES applications in solar, electronics or automated manufacturing environments.
