Assistant Manager, Inventory Planning

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager, Inventory Planning to oversee inventory planning and stock movement across our retail network. The role ensures the right products are available at the right stores at the right time while keeping inventory levels healthy and minimizing excess or ageing stock. This position requires strong retail operations experience, an analytical mindset, and an understanding of the retail distribution ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor stock‑in and stock‑out across the retail network, including transfers between warehouses, distribution centres and stores.
• Drive inventory planning and replenishment based on sales trends, store requirements and current inventory levels.
• Track inventory availability, ageing, excess and slow‑moving stock and flag potential stock‑out risks.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth inventory movement.
• Develop and maintain inventory reports, dashboards and trackers for visibility on key metrics.
• Analyse sales and inventory data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Support forecasting and planning for new product launches, campaigns, seasonality and other business needs.
• Monitor inventory health across stores and recommend stock transfers or reallocation as needed.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and work with relevant teams to improve availability and reduce inefficiencies.
• Support visual merchandising by ensuring appropriate product assortment and availability at stores.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of experience in retail operations, inventory planning or supply chain.
• Prior exposure to direct‑to‑consumer brands, quick‑commerce or offline retail environments is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving skills based on first‑principles thinking.
• Data‑driven mindset with solid analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, execution‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, dashboards, data analysis).
