Assistant Manager – Ground Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Ground Operations is responsible for managing end‑to‑end mid‑mile activities at an assigned air or surface hub. Reporting to the Head of Hub Operations, the role ensures smooth inbound, outbound and transit processing, maintaining network connectivity, operational accuracy and service reliability while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shift operations at the hub, coordinating shipment processing, fleet movements and manpower deployment.
• Monitor and optimise inbound, outbound and transit workflows to meet service level agreements.
• Collaborate with Network Operations, Aviation, Surface Linehaul and other internal teams to resolve operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, security protocols and company policies.
• Track hub performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hub or ground operations within the logistics or transportation sector.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead teams in a fast‑paced environment and make data‑driven decisions.
