Assistant Manager - Dispatch (Last mile Delivery)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, detail‑oriented Assistant Manager – Dispatch to lead daily dispatch operations and ensure that products reach customers on time, intact, and with accurate documentation. You will act as the connective tissue between warehouses, transport partners, delivery teams, and customer support, driving an exceptional delivery experience while keeping operations lean and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily dispatch schedules against customer orders and delivery commitments.
• Allocate shipments to delivery partners and internal delivery teams, monitoring dispatch accuracy, SKU verification, and documentation.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure orders are picked, packed, and dispatched on schedule.
• Track deliveries from dispatch through successful customer installation or delivery, resolving delays, route issues, and escalations.
• Ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) collection and timely system updates.
• Partner with Customer Experience, Sales, Warehouse, and Logistics teams for smooth order fulfilment and communicate delivery schedules to customers.
• Monitor key metrics such as On‑Time Delivery, Dispatch Accuracy, Delivery Success Rate, and Customer Satisfaction, preparing regular operational reports.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards, and transportation regulations, and reconcile inventory discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Commerce, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in logistics, dispatch operations, last‑mile delivery, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
• Experience in e‑commerce, retail, furniture, mattress, consumer durables, or D2C businesses is preferred.
