Assistant Manager - Delegated Procurement

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Delegated Procurement will lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for chemicals, consumables, solvents and related items supporting R&D Crop Protection projects. Based in Navi Mumbai, the role collaborates with finance, logistics, and central procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Procure chemicals, solvents, safety tools, gas cylinders and other consumables.
• Manage full purchase requisition (PR) cycle, negotiate competitive offers and establish annual rate contracts.
• Develop new vendors, create vendor records in the IMDG system, and track order status.
• Coordinate with Controlling, Finance, EXIM, Stores and Logistics; analyse category‑wise spend.
• Handle vendor payment queries, open PO tracking, import payment documentation and CAPEX procurement support.
• Act as single point of contact for annual maintenance contracts, including budgeting, PR creation and payment tracking.
• Provide ERP training to direct reports and prepare procurement SOPs.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance and support internal/external audits.
• Perform monthly spend analysis and drive digitalisation initiatives.

Required profile

• MBA or MCom with at least 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in R&D.
• Strong communication skills and proactive, result‑driven attitude.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.
