About the role
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping and grounds teams to ensure a flawless 5‑star experience for guests across villas, gardens, suites and all public areas. This role combines hands‑on supervision with strategic planning, inventory control and staff development.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily cleaning activities for villas, gardens, seating areas, washrooms, suites and public spaces.
- Design and implement processes that guarantee a 5‑star guest experience.
- Plan, organise and direct housekeeping and grounds staff, providing daily supervision.
- Purchase, reorder and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory.
- Conduct daily inspections of rooms and public areas to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
- Recruit, schedule, train and mentor new housekeeping personnel.
- Maintain the department budget, preparing billing summaries and expense reports.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to keep all facilities in optimal condition.
- Coordinate cleaning activities with in‑house staff and contracted cleaning agencies.
- Manage staff rosters, handle grievances, and oversee recruitment, hiring and termination processes.
Required profile
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve VIP and celebrity guests.
- Well‑presented, polite, tactful and capable of handling complaints calmly.
- Strong people‑management abilities and good organisational skills.
- Proven experience leading a housekeeping team through motivation, coaching and development.
- Ability to anticipate customer needs, adapt quickly and multitask effectively.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- Budget management experience and a track record of delivering outstanding customer service.
- Comfort interacting with all levels of management, guests and staff.
Required skills
- Working knowledge of rooms management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of housekeeping processes and procedures.
