Assistant Cook

About the role

SmartGrub is seeking a motivated Assistant Cook to join its Gurugram kitchen team. Working full‑time on‑site, you will support the head cook in delivering high‑quality catering services for corporate, school, industrial and hospital clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established menus and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation areas, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Help with plating, presentation, and timely service during events.
• Support inventory management by organizing, storing supplies and checking deliveries.
• Collaborate with the catering team to ensure efficient service for diverse client segments.

Required profile

• Basic culinary knowledge, including food preparation, cooking techniques and portion control.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene practices and kitchen sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions and standardized procedures accurately.
• Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights and work during peak hours.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and event‑based schedules.
