Assistant Construction Manager

About the role

The Assistant Construction Manager will support the Construction Manager in delivering water supply infrastructure projects, ensuring that daily construction activities are well‑planned, coordinated and executed on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Construction Manager in planning, coordinating and supervising day‑to‑day construction activities.
• Monitor construction progress against approved drawings, specifications, work programmes and project schedules.
• Supervise construction of water supply assets such as water treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, pipelines, valve chambers, roads and related civil structures.
• Review contractors’ construction methodologies, work programmes, resource deployment and site execution plans.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, design teams, QA/QC personnel and client representatives to resolve technical and site‑related issues.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and compliance with QA/QC procedures and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Track contractor manpower, equipment and material deployment and flag resource constraints affecting progress.
