Art Teacher

About the role

The Art Teacher will join Doon International School Srinagar to deliver engaging visual‑arts lessons to students across appropriate grade levels. Working full‑time on‑site, you will foster creativity, self‑expression, and an appreciation for diverse artistic perspectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver art lessons covering a range of techniques and media.
• Guide students through projects in painting, drawing and other visual‑arts disciplines.
• Assess student progress through assignments, practical work and exhibitions.
• Contribute to the development and updating of the art curriculum.
• Organise classroom materials, displays and support school art events such as exhibitions and competitions.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification in Fine Arts, Art Education or a closely related field.
• Prior teaching experience in a school setting, preferably at primary or secondary level.
• Strong classroom‑management, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to participate in school activities, exhibitions and professional development.

Required skills

• Proficiency in painting and related artistic techniques.
• Practical studio skills for a variety of visual‑arts media.
