Area Sales Manager – Consumer Business Group (Mumbai)

About the role

3M is seeking an Area Sales Manager for its Consumer Business Group in Mumbai. The role focuses on implementing, supervising, and improving frontline sales and distribution infrastructure to achieve business goals across the assigned territory.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and improve sales and distribution processes, metrics, and promotions to meet annual business plan targets.
• Execute demand‑generation, visibility, and merchandising programs to achieve POS sell‑out objectives.
• Monitor and enhance product range availability and placement with the sales team.
• Analyze data, mine insights, and design selective programs for the utensil cleaning tools portfolio.
• Maintain relationships with top outlets, handle outlet business directly, and spend at least 18 days per month in the market.
• Train sales and merchandising teams on sales calls and processes, ensuring discipline and adherence to planned calls.
• Settle financial claims of outlets and distributors within stipulated time frames.
• Manage trade program budgets, evaluate demand‑generation activities, and ensure timely execution of critical programs.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering annual business plans for a sales channel.
• Ability to spend significant time in the market and build strong outlet relationships.
• Strong analytical and planning capabilities, including data mining and insight generation.
• Experience training and leading sales and merchandising teams.
• Capability to manage financial claims and trade program budgets.
