Architect

About the role

Flipkart is looking for an experienced Architect to lead technology and engineering best practices across its teams. You will own the design, scalability, performance, and quality of critical systems that power India’s leading e‑commerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Drive technology standards, coding, design, and performance best practices within the team.
• Participate in development, code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions, contributing up to 75% of your time.
• Own scaling, performance, and quality initiatives for your product area.
• Experiment with emerging technologies, measure impact, and champion adoption.
• Define and implement long‑term technology vision and architecture aligned with product requirements.
• Represent Flipkart in internal and external technology forums.
• Create architectures and designs for new solutions across existing and emerging problem spaces.
• Make technology and tool choices for the team and ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities for complex, large‑scale challenges.
• Broad technical exposure across multiple problem domains and technologies.
• Excellent system design and object‑oriented design skills with the ability to craft clean interfaces.
• Solid coding expertise and proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
