Android Developer – Mobile Application (Chennai)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Android Developer to join our mobile application team in Chennai. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality Android apps from concept through release, ensuring a great user experience and robust performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and publish Android applications on the Google Play Store.
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product managers to create research protocols, personas, wire‑frames, and UI prototypes.
• Maintain code quality, security, and documentation following project guidelines.
• Integrate RESTful, SOAP, JSON and XML web services and work with Firebase, in‑app purchases, push notifications, and Google APIs (Camera, GPS, Maps, Services).
• Participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies using tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Slack.
• Debug, optimise memory usage, and resolve performance issues across a range of Android devices and tablets.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of professional experience developing Android applications.
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, different Android versions, and screen‑size variations.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Familiarity with the full mobile development lifecycle, from design to release and support.

• Java and Kotlin programming languages.
• Android SDK, Android GUI, Camera API, GPS API, Maps API, Services, SQLite.
• Firebase, RESTful APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML.
• React Native, Xcode, react‑navigation, Redux, Hooks, HOC, Axios.
• In‑App Purchase, Push Notifications.
• Agile methodologies and tools: JIRA, Confluence, Slack.
