Algorithm Developer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Algorithm Developer to design, develop, and implement algorithmic modules and flows for semiconductor and display equipment. The role is based in Chennai and involves collaboration with internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop major algorithmic or Matlab modules, including research, design, implementation, and integration within project budgets and schedules.
• Perform algorithmic concept‑selection, data gathering, literature review, and validation for new features.
• Create work plans, document development, and lead testing and proliferation of algorithmic solutions.
• Collaborate with customers to analyze gaps, define activities, and support integration and testing.

Required profile

• Demonstrated depth in a specialized discipline such as algorithm development or Matlab programming.
• Ability to interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products or processes.
• Leadership experience managing functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of guiding others to innovative solutions.
