Airport Baggage Screener – Security Operations

About the role

The Screener is responsible for the safe and efficient screening of hold baggage at airport checkpoints, ensuring compliance with aviation security regulations and detecting prohibited items or threats. This position works closely with security teams, airline staff, and CISF personnel to maintain the highest standards of passenger safety.

Key responsibilities

• Operate X‑BIS imaging equipment to identify dangerous goods, weapons, ammunition, and other prohibited articles in check‑in baggage.
• Perform physical inspections and ETD (Explosive Trace Detection) tests on baggage flagged by X‑ray screening.
• Maintain high Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores to demonstrate strong image interpretation capabilities.
• Conduct routine pre‑operational checks of X‑BIS, ETD, CT‑EDS and other security equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Document all findings and actions to satisfy audit and inspection requirements.
• Collaborate with CISF and airline staff during inspections and provide timely updates to supervisors.

Required profile

• Ability to follow BCAS and DGCA guidelines and adhere to all regulatory directives.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with passengers and security stakeholders.
