AI Engineer – Generative AI & LLM Solutions

About the role

Mastercard is looking for an AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy cutting‑edge Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions. You will work within the Global Business Services Center Analytics and Automation team to turn data into actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI and Generative AI solutions using LLMs, Agentic AI frameworks, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Build and maintain scalable AI/ML pipelines, data preparation workflows, and cloud‑native integrations on Azure, Databricks, and AWS.
• Integrate AI capabilities with APIs, databases, cloud services, and internal applications.
• Support deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational maintenance following MLOps and LLMOps best practices.
• Implement Responsible AI and governance practices, including bias detection, hallucination mitigation, explainability dashboards, and safety guardrails.
• Stay current on emerging Generative AI, LLM, and cloud platform trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related technical field.
• Hands‑on experience delivering production‑level AI applications.
• Basic understanding of LLMs, Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, and AI/ML workflows.
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform or AI ecosystem (Azure, AWS, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or Microsoft Copilot).
