Agile Academy & Trainers - VP

About the role

Barclays is seeking a Vice President to lead its Agile Academy and trainer function within Global Transaction Banking. You will shape the organisation’s agile transformation, design learning programmes, and embed agile mind‑sets across teams and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and run an Agile Academy, delivering training, coaching and an operating model for scaled agile adoption.
• Guide teams, product owners and leaders in applying agile frameworks, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Facilitate the transition to new agile methodologies at team‑of‑teams level, providing psychological safety and removing impediments.
• Collaborate with CIO and technology groups to integrate agile practices with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling and engineering standards.
• Support transformation offices, compliance and risk functions to balance agility with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in large‑scale agile and engineering transformations within global organisations, preferably financial services.
• Strong experience coaching teams in scaled agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, ICAgile) and delivering sustainable change.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across technology, product and risk domains.

Required skills

• SAFe SPC certification or equivalent ICAgile credentials.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design, branching strategies and DevOps tooling.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Azure, Jenkins, Git and enterprise agile metrics (flow, lead time, deployment frequency).
• Understanding of engineering practices, sprint‑0 readiness and backlog preparation at scale.
