Advanced Payroll Analyst – Tax & Payroll

About the role

EY is looking for an Advanced Payroll Analyst to join its multi‑country Corporate and Global Payroll team. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality across a high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full payroll cycles, including year‑end processing, for several clients.
• Collect, enter and upload payroll data, maintaining up‑to‑date employee records.
• Update payroll components such as exemptions, insurance, deductions, job titles and departmental transfers.
• Generate payroll reports summarising earnings, taxes, deductions, leave and non‑taxable wages.
• Calculate federal, state and statutory payroll liabilities.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and queries.
• Analyse payroll information to answer internal and client requests.
• Follow payroll policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
• Provide ad‑hoc reporting as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in high‑volume, full‑function payroll processing.
• Strong data‑entry and general math abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Multi‑tasking, organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Payroll‑related diploma or certificate is advantageous but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageous.
