Accountant – Tax & Compliance

About the role

The Accountant – Tax & Compliance will join Mammoet India’s finance team in Mumbai, supporting the company’s tax assessments, statutory compliance and financial reporting. You will work closely with tax consultants and authorities to ensure accurate filing and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tax compliance for Corporate Income Tax, GST, Withholding Tax, FEMA and Transfer Pricing.
• Prepare documentation and coordinate with tax consultants and government auditors during assessments.
• Perform accounting tasks including reconciliations, journal entries, month‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities.
• Assist internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to company policies and local legislation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in accounting and taxation.
• Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws, statutory compliance and financial reporting standards.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
