Accountant

About the role

Valley Engineering Private Limited is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage day‑to‑day financial operations and project accounting for its engineering and automation projects. The role involves handling bookkeeping, statutory compliance, and financial reporting while collaborating closely with project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger using Zoho Books (and QuickBooks where applicable).
• Track project‑wise costs, prepare invoices, manage billing, and perform reconciliations for engineering contracts.
• Ensure timely GST, TDS, and other statutory filings and compliance.
• Prepare monthly MIS reports, financial statements, and management dashboards.
• Coordinate with project managers on budgets, advances, retentions, and vendor payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and support internal/external audits.
• Provide overall finance and accounting support typical of a mid‑sized project engineering firm.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of relevant accounting experience.
• M.Com or CA Inter (mandatory).
• Hands‑on experience with Zoho Books; QuickBooks experience is an advantage.
• Prior exposure to project‑management, engineering, automation, or project‑based organizations.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams.
