Accountant – GST & Tax Compliance

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to manage GST, tax and accounting functions for our engineering and construction business in Mumbai. The role involves end‑to‑end compliance, bookkeeping and financial reporting under Indian GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B, GSTR‑9, GSTR‑9C) and reconcile tax mismatches.
• Reconcile GSTR‑2A/2B with the books of accounts.
• Handle payment compliance for GST, TDS and advance tax.
• Manage income tax compliance, including TDS calculations, filings and revisions.
• Maintain and close books of accounts as per Indian GAAP using Tally and SAP.
• Record day‑to‑day financial transactions, expenses and incomes.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities, audit support and annual return filings.
• Perform AR & AP reconciliation, bank reconciliation and daily bank statement preparation.
• Prepare monthly dues/payable analysis for creditors, debtors, wages and salaries.
• Generate MIS reports and ensure timely completion of month‑end closing.
• Prepare e‑invoices and e‑way bills as required.

Required profile

• Preferred academic background: B.Com, M.Com or CA Inter.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, GST and tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, GST, TDS and income tax regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with accounting software (Tally, SAP).
