Accountant – General Accounting (Bangalore)

About the role

Volvo Group’s Record to Report Department in Bangalore is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage general accounting, month‑end close, and financial reporting activities. You will work closely with internal partners and external clients to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Record and reconcile business transactions related to sales, general ledger, and fixed assets.
• Execute period‑end close processes, prepare and post journal entries, and reconcile balance‑sheet and income‑statement accounts.
• Prepare recurring reporting packages, financial statements, and assist with year‑end close.
• Maintain SAP FI/CO master data and support GL, AP, AR, and FA modules.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure SOX compliance.
• Monitor transactions against Volvo Group financial policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in general accounting, month‑end close, and financial reporting.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong analytical abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑reliant, and able to work flexible shifts.
• Experience in manufacturing or shared‑service environments is a plus.

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
• Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• SAP FI/CO, GL, AP, AR, FA modules.
• Blackline or similar reconciliation tools.
• Data validation, presentation, and interpretation.
