Accountant – Finance Operations

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our finance team in Coimbatore. You will play a key part in managing daily financial transactions and ensuring accurate financial reporting for our timber import‑export business.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintaining timely payments and collections.
• Perform bank reconciliations and post general ledger entries.
• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and revenue analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and coordinate with internal teams and external auditors.
• Identify and implement process improvements in financial operations.
• Provide regular financial reports to management.

Required profile

• Strong background in financial accounting, bookkeeping, and general ledger management.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Good knowledge of taxation, statutory compliance, and relevant accounting standards.
• Ability to prepare financial statements, support budgeting, and analyse financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and time‑management abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional work.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field; professional certifications are a plus.
• Prior experience in trading, import/export, or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
