Workshop Operator

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Workshop Operator to run and monitor VMC/HMC/Turnmill/VTL machines equipped with angular heads and live spindles. The successful candidate will ensure precise machining of components while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate VMC/HMC/Turnmill/VTL machines, load and unload workpieces safely using appropriate lifting tools.
• Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to job requirements and perform machining without deviation.
• Interpret CNC programs and create new programs from drawings on VTL machines for diverse jobs.
• Apply correct tool and work offsets, verify program compatibility, and compensate for job ovality.
• Inspect components with precision measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Dial Gauge, Bore Gauge) and document results.
• Perform daily machine checks (coolant level, lubrication, tool condition) and report mechanical or electrical issues.
• Follow all safety protocols, wear required PPE, and keep the work area clean and organized.

Required profile

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience operating VTL machines.
• Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc or machine‑specific) and ability to read engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Experience handling large components up to 250 cm in diameter.
