Welding Engineer – Technical Services (Dahej, Gujarat)

About the role

Technip Energies is looking for a Welding Engineer to join its Technical Services team in Dahej, Gujarat. You will support the design, planning and execution of welding activities for process skids, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other critical equipment, ensuring compliance with international codes and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop welding procedures (WPS) and qualification records (PQR) in accordance with ASME, AWS, EN and API standards.
• Plan and supervise welding execution for projects involving duplex, austenitic stainless steels, Inconel alloys, low‑alloy and carbon steels.
• Coordinate non‑destructive testing (RT, UT, PAUT, MT, PT) and review inspection reports.
• Manage welder certification, RCA of weld repairs and compliance with IMS audits.
• Collaborate with design, fabrication and client teams to resolve technical issues and ensure on‑time delivery.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Metallurgy or related discipline.
• 4–8 years of experience as a Welding Engineer in the oil & gas, petrochemical or energy sector.
• Proven experience with welding automation and digital welding/NDE software.
• Strong interpersonal and team‑management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and third‑party inspectors.

Required skills

• ASME Sec IX, Sec VIII Div.1 & 2, Sec II C, B31.3, IBR, EN 1090‑2, EN ISO 3834‑2.
• AWS D1.1, D1.6, TEMA, PED, API RP 582, API 934, IOGP S 705, API 660.
• Metallurgy knowledge of Duplex SS, Austenitic SS (SS304, SS316L, SS321, SS310), Inconel 600/800/800H, low‑alloy steels (P9, P22, P11) and low‑temperature carbon steel.
• Preparation of WPS, PQR, welder certificates (EN ISO 15614, EN ISO 9606).
• Non‑destructive examination techniques: RT, UT, PAUT, MT, PT.
• Welding automation, digital welding/NDE software, IMS audit procedures, root‑cause analysis for weld repairs.
