Welder & Heat Correction Operator

About the role

You will be responsible for performing welding and controlled heat‑correction operations on fabricated and assembled components according to approved drawings, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and quality standards. The position involves preparing joints, executing MIG/MAG, TIG or Arc welds, and applying precise heat‑straightening techniques while maintaining safety and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute MIG/MAG, TIG and/or Arc welding following approved WPS and work instructions.
• Prepare joints, fit‑up, tack weld and complete welding as per drawing requirements.
• Identify components needing heat correction based on dimensional inspection.
• Apply controlled heating using approved equipment, monitor temperature with crayons, gauges or IR thermometers, and follow specified heating/cooling sequences.
• Inspect welds visually, record defects, and ensure components are not overheated or distorted.
• Maintain traceability of welders, heat‑correction activities, and inspection status.
• Complete inspection records and check‑sheets for welding and heat correction.
• Maintain welding machines, gas and heating equipment in good condition and ensure proper housekeeping.

Required profile

• Experience with MIG/MAG, TIG and/or Arc welding according to WPS.
• Ability to prepare joints, fit‑up and perform welding to meet drawing specifications.
• Knowledge of heat correction/straightening techniques and temperature control methods.
• Attention to detail for dimensional inspection before, during and after correction.
• Commitment to safety, PPE usage and reporting of abnormalities.
