Website Developer

About the role

ApplyBoard is looking for a Website Developer to build, maintain and continuously improve the web presence for a school partner in Florida. The role works closely with marketing, content and campaign teams to deliver fast, accessible and conversion‑optimized web experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web pages using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and CMS platforms such as WordPress.
• Implement SEO best practices, including semantic HTML, metadata, structured data and performance optimisation.
• Ensure all sites meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Optimise performance through Core Web Vitals, caching strategies and image optimisation.
• Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, HubSpot) to monitor performance and guide improvements.
• Manage version control and deployments with Git/GitHub.
• Maintain and troubleshoot integrations, forms, plugins and third‑party tools.
• Handle hosting environments, DNS settings and SSL certificates as required.
• Collaborate with marketing, product and design teams and keep documentation up to date.
• Stay informed about emerging web technologies and recommend enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Design or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on web development or website maintenance experience.
• Strong understanding of responsive and mobile‑first design principles.
• Working knowledge of SEO best practices and web accessibility (WCAG 2.1).
• Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Basic understanding of hosting environments, DNS and SSL.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
