Web Developer – Frontend & Backend Development

About the role

The Web Developer will design, build and maintain websites and web applications for Loch Corporate Services and its clients. Working closely with IT and marketing teams, you will own both front‑end and back‑end development tasks, ensuring digital properties are functional, secure and performant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain internal and client‑facing websites and web applications.
• Write clean, well‑documented code for front‑end and back‑end components.
• Collaborate with design and content teams to implement layouts, features and functionality.
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues and cross‑browser compatibility problems.
• Ensure sites are responsive, accessible, SEO‑friendly and optimised for speed.
• Manage hosting environments, CMS platforms and routine site maintenance.
• Apply security best practices to protect sites and data.
• Conduct pre‑deployment testing and support post‑launch monitoring.
• Maintain technical documentation and participate in code reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional web development experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks independently.
• Problem‑solving mindset with debugging expertise.
• Understanding of responsive design, web performance and basic SEO.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
• Back‑end development knowledge, APIs and database integration.
• Version control using Git.
• Responsive design and web performance optimisation.
• Basic SEO principles.
