Water/Sewer Truck Driver – Level 1

About the role

The City of Montpelier is seeking a Level 1 Water/Sewer Truck Driver to join its Water‑Sewer Division within Public Works. You will work alongside a crew that constructs, maintains, and repairs water distribution, raw water, wastewater collection, and transmission systems.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a water/sewer truck safely and efficiently on municipal routes.
• Transport equipment, tools, and materials needed for water and sewer projects.
• Assist the crew in the construction, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
• Follow all safety protocols and city regulations while on the job.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training.
• Valid Vermont Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL); tanker endorsement is preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment physical examination and drug test.

Required skills

• Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Tanker endorsement (preferred).
