VP/Director, Finance Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller function for India will be led by a senior executive who will act as a strategic partner within a global organisation. Based in Hyderabad, the role combines oversight of all finance activities with the drive to embed advanced technologies and process excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead the India finance function end‑to‑end, positioning it as a strategic capability within the global organisation.
• Strengthen financial controls across all India entities, ensuring robust accounting, compliance and risk governance aligned to global standards.
• Navigate complex accounting and regulatory matters with sound judgement and escalate issues appropriately.
• Engage confidently with senior stakeholders including the board, regulators, global leadership and external advisors.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives across geographies, ensuring alignment with the global finance function.
• Identify and implement AI processes and tools within finance workflows.
• Partner with technology teams to evaluate and adopt new tools while maintaining strict control standards.
• Drive process transformation and build and manage a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to lead a finance organisation at a senior level.
• Strong judgement in handling complex accounting and regulatory issues.
• Proven experience engaging with boards, regulators and global senior leadership.
• Leadership skills to build, develop and manage a high‑performing finance team.
• Experience driving cross‑functional initiatives and process transformation.
• Interest or experience in applying AI tools to finance processes.
