VMware Administrator

About the role

The VMware Administrator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a mission‑critical infrastructure that supports virtualization, cloud orchestration, and database services. You will work closely with senior analysts and the service desk to ensure high availability and performance of both Windows and Linux environments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix application delivery, and Remote Desktop Services across Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Manage Linux platforms (RedHat, Oracle Linux) and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Support database environments including MSSQL and Oracle.
• Prepare and amend hosting documentation for new and existing environments.
• Validate hosting request forms with customers and provision virtual servers/services according to design specifications.
• Perform scheduled and ad‑hoc backup and restore operations.
• Apply regular patching to Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Maintain physical server hardware, SAN storage, and load‑balancing appliances.
• Collaborate with the service desk for operational support and escalation.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and duty schedules.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating mission‑critical virtualized environments.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server and Linux system administration.
• Ability to work with customers to gather requirements and produce accurate documentation.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call rotations and handle escalations.
