Virtual Financial Controller – Canada Accounting

About the role

This is a fully remote position based in Ludhiana, India, reporting directly to the CFO located in Canada. The Virtual Financial Controller will oversee the Canadian accounting function while managing outsourced accounting teams in India.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Canada‑based CFO and act as the primary financial liaison.
• Manage and supervise outsourced accounting teams in India.
• Oversee month‑end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
• Handle GST/HST reconciliations and prepare submissions to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
• Maintain compliance, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple geographies.
• Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen financial controls.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (mandatory).
• 10–15 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Valid passport and willingness to travel to Canada when required.
• Ability to work during Canada business hours (6:30 PM – 3:30 AM IST).

Required skills

• Strong experience with QuickBooks.
• Proven team leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Expertise in Canadian GST/HST compliance and CRA submissions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
