Vice President, Product Development, Switching as a Service

About the role

The Vice President will lead the Product Development team responsible for the core switching and data‑related capabilities of Mastercard’s new Switching as a Service (SwaaS) offering. Reporting to the Network Products business unit, the role ensures delivery against contracted milestones, manages cross‑functional stakeholder alignment, and drives the first SwaaS implementation across multiple time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Product Development team from intake through elaboration, execution, build, and run of the Core Switching and Data services.
• Provide regular reporting, risk management, and resource coordination in partnership with PMO and Finance.
• Own delivery of the allocated scope, coordinating with Product Management and Engineering to meet milestones and conditions.
• Maintain functional and technical understanding of the platform, including architecture, dependencies, data flows, and support strategies.
• Drive stakeholder alignment across Product, Engineering, Global Customer Delivery, Privacy, and other teams.
• Establish product development discipline, clear methods, standards, and high‑quality on‑time contributions.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a high‑performance team while fostering a culture of execution and innovation.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI for improved speed, efficiency, and quality.

Required profile

• Fluent in English with 10+ years of product development or product management experience in complex, geographically distributed environments.
• Proven people‑leadership experience managing and developing high‑performing teams.
• Executive‑level stakeholder management and influence in a matrixed organization.
• Strong execution mindset, sound judgment, and practical problem‑solving skills.
• Prior experience in payments or fintech; card processing systems experience (authorization, clearing, settlement) preferred.
• Highly organized, able to handle multiple competing priorities and navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
