Vice President – Product Control

About the role

HSBC is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead Product Control for its Markets and Markets Treasury businesses in India. The Vice President will be responsible for end‑to‑end P&L and balance‑sheet control, ensuring accurate reporting and commercial insight for the Front Office.

Key responsibilities

• Own full product‑control coverage for Markets/Markets Treasury, delivering daily and monthly P&L with clear commentary and attribution.
• Manage SOX compliance, control frameworks and risk issues, aligning Front Office, Product Control and Controllership.
• Lead balance‑sheet substantiation, monthly analytical reviews and BSRS with robust governance.
• Investigate, escalate and resolve breaks, partnering with Valuations, Financial Control and Policy teams.
• Drive process re‑engineering, system upgrades and automation to shorten close cycles and improve transparency.
• Develop and lead a high‑performing team, manage senior stakeholders and maintain audit and regulatory readiness.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance experience in product control, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance‑sheet accounting, valuation principles and SOX controls.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders and manage complex projects.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a commercial mindset.
