Vice President – IWPB Business Finance

About the role

HSBC is seeking a Vice President to join its IWPB Business Finance team. The role provides deep financial insight into product profitability and supports strategic decision‑making for the India IWPB franchise.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse product profitability and key return drivers, delivering regular financial analysis and management information.
• Prepare clear commentary on month‑on‑month P&L and balance‑sheet movements and trends.
• Implement and maintain standardized reports and financial tools that highlight key business drivers and KPIs.
• Provide specialist finance support, respond quickly to business needs, and contribute to governance and control processes.
• Enhance consistency, transparency, and control in financial analysis using globally aligned MI and robust data sources.
• Coordinate and assess financial plans, targets, and forecast updates for India IWPB, preparing analytics and stakeholder presentations.
• Offer insight into performance versus peers, identify emerging issues and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification (CA, MBA, CFA) preferred but not mandatory.
• 5‑6+ years of relevant finance experience.
• Strong competence in financial accounting procedures, controls, risk management and quality assurance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to ask critical questions and challenge assumptions.
• Minimum 12 months in current role for level transfer or promotion.
• Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools is an advantage.
