Unit Visual Merchandiser – Head of Visual Merchandising

About the role

The Unit Visual Merchandiser (Unit VM Head) leads the visual merchandising strategy for a retail unit in Mumbai. This role ensures that all visual presentations align with brand standards, drive customer engagement, and support sales growth while managing a dedicated visual merchandising team.

Key responsibilities

• Standardise visual presentation of merchandise across the store.
• Place fixtures and planograms accurately and maintain a display calendar.
• Train retail staff on visual merchandising and merchandise presentation.
• Manage in‑store and brand signages, focal points, window displays and storyboards.
• Plan, design and execute visual merchandising for events in liaison with Marketing.
• Monitor VM budgets, control costs and ensure spend stays within allocated limits.
• Maintain mannequins, props and other visual assets.
• Document VM activities, budgets and maintain vendor relationships for sourcing and outsourcing design execution.

Required profile

• Strong planning and organisational abilities.
• Creative mindset with solid technical knowledge of visual merchandising.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to monitor, control budgets and negotiate with vendors.
• Commercial awareness and networking capability.
• Educational background in fashion design (e.g., FDDI or NIFT).
