Underwriter – US Residential Mortgage QC (Bangalore)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced US Mortgage Underwriter to perform comprehensive quality‑control reviews of closed residential mortgage loans. The role focuses on ensuring strict compliance with agency, investor and regulatory guidelines across a variety of loan types.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct end‑to‑end QC validation of income, assets, credit, collateral, compliance and closing documentation.
• Identify underwriting, documentation and compliance deficiencies and document root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain 100 % adherence to agency, investor and federal/state mortgage regulations as well as internal QC policies.
• Meet defined quality and quantity service‑level agreements.
• Support corrective and preventive action initiatives and propose process‑improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product Management to enhance platform features and user experience.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of experience in US residential mortgage underwriting or post‑closing QC.
• Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA guidelines and Jumbo, Non‑QM loan programs.
• Proven ability to perform full loan‑file reviews covering income, assets, credit, appraisal, compliance and closing.
• Excellent analytical, documentation and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to work independently under defined SLAs and performance metrics.

Required skills

• Agency and investor compliance standards.
• Mortgage QC platforms or LOS systems such as Encompass, ACES, DocMagic.
• Regulatory frameworks including TRID and ATR/QM.
