Transport Incharge

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Transport Incharge to oversee the daily operation of its bus fleet, ensuring safe, punctual, and efficient transportation for students. This full‑time, onsite position reports to the Head of Administration and plays a critical role in supporting school events, field trips, and emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and monitor daily bus operations, optimizing routes based on student needs.
• Ensure on‑time arrival and departure of all school buses and coordinate transport for events and examinations.
• Maintain student safety through regular bus inspections, safety equipment checks, and compliance with RTO regulations.
• Supervise drivers, bus attendants, and support staff, monitoring attendance, performance, and training.
• Schedule preventive maintenance, keep vehicle service records, and coordinate with service providers to minimise downtime.
• Address parent queries, communicate route changes or delays, and coordinate with school leadership on transport requirements.
• Maintain accurate transport logs, driver details, vehicle documents, and prepare periodic reports.
• Respond to emergencies, accidents, or breakdowns, coordinating response procedures and conducting safety drills.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in transport management, fleet operations, logistics, or school transportation (educational‑institution experience preferred).
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Telugu.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and communication abilities.
• Good knowledge of RTO regulations, vehicle documentation, and transport safety standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems for fleet monitoring.
