Transaction Monitoring Analyst – Remote (LATAM/APAC timezones)

About the role

As a Transaction Monitoring Analyst you will safeguard the integrity of Bitfinex’s platform by identifying, investigating and mitigating financial‑crime risks across fiat and cryptocurrency transactions. You will work within the Compliance team, analysing alerts, assessing unusual activity and collaborating with AML investigators and product teams to ensure timely escalation of high‑risk cases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement transaction‑monitoring algorithms to detect AML, terrorism financing, sanctions and other compliance risks.
• Analyze and investigate alerts from fiat (wire and non‑wire) and crypto (on‑chain and off‑chain) trades, deposits and withdrawals, escalating urgent cases.
• Prepare periodic reports on money‑laundering, terrorism‑financing and sanctions anomalies for senior compliance leadership.
• Adjust risk parameters to align with the platform’s risk appetite and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance, AML/KYC/CTF or related fields, with understanding of enhanced due diligence and sanctions.
• University degree and preferably a CAMS or CBP designation.
• Strong analytical thinking, critical‑decision making and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic or TRM.
• Working knowledge of blockchain technology.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Docs (Chrome, Open Search, Gmail).
