Traffic Officer – Control Room Executive

About the role

The Control Room Executive, also known as a Traffic Officer, will monitor our bus fleet in real time from a central command centre. The role ensures vehicles stay on schedule, supports drivers, and safeguards passenger safety through rapid communication and incident handling.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor live bus movements using GPS tracking, detect delays, unauthorized stops or route deviations, and update estimated arrival times.
• Serve as the primary communication link for drivers, providing traffic, diversion and weather updates, and enforcing speed and safety protocols.
• Coordinate immediate mechanical assistance or replacement vehicles, report accidents, mobilise emergency services and guide drivers through passenger emergencies.
• Maintain a digital log of trips, incidents and driver hours, prepare daily performance reports and reconcile fuel consumption data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Logistics or Transport Management preferred).
• 1–3 years experience in a control‑room, call‑centre or logistics operations environment; bus/transport experience is a plus.
• Ability to stay calm, make quick decisions under pressure and work rotational shifts, including nights.
• Fluent verbal communication in Bengali, Hindi and basic English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS/Fleet Management software.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Effective email communication.
